Background Kobatera, LLC is a privately held Technology Consulting and Business Services company that was founded in 2003. The company was created to take advantage of recent trends in the technology industry. Specifically, three trends have come together to create an opportunity for those that are able to capitalize on them. The trends are Appropriate use of Open Source technology can greatly reduce the time and cost of system development. The Internet provides an efficient mechanism for service delivery to a wide geographic area at minimal cost. This allows business models that were previously impractical to create economies of scale and become profitable. Many corporations are not able to take advantage of the first two factors because of limitations in their knowledge or organizational structure. This delay in adoption by slow moving companies provides opportunities for consulting to more nimble organizations, and direct competition in select areas. Structure Kobatera is composed of two business units, Technology Consulting and Business Services. The Technology Consulting unit focuses on helping our clients achieve competitive advantage by capitalizing on recent trends in Internet service delivery and Open Source software development. We work with clients to integrate these technologies into their enterprise and system architectures in a way that makes practical sense and achieves results. The Business Services unit employs the knowledge and experience of the consulting unit to create its own services delivered over the Internet. Our President The President of Kobatera, Doug Baber, is an information technology veteran with 18 years of experience in corporate and government information technology organizations. His experience is broadly based, with a tremendous amount of hands-on business and technical experience, as well as B.S. and M.S. degrees in Business. Doug has worked in numerous capacities from Developer, to Enterprise Architect, to President and many roles in-between. He has seen technology and development trends come and go, and worked with many that have been relevant for 30 years. His experience spans numerous technologies, applications, and industries.
